Blue Cabinet Makeover

This piece immediately stopped me in my tracks!!  This cabinet was quite the "ugly duckling" when I found her - all worn and torn up.  She had lost her luster...

I bought her at a thrift store abandoned and in rough shape.  The upside was the fact that the drawers and the cupboard door were in pristine condition with lots of potential personality. Unfortunately, it had a bad latex paint job that just didn’t bring out her natural over all beauty!

I grabbed this marvelous piece with no hesitation and was ready to bring her back from the dead.  I hauled her into the car and went on home.

First off, I cleaned the heck out of the piece using a rag, boiling water and a dab of dish soap.  Then I took a 60-grit sandpaper to the piece lightly scuffed it up to get ready for step #2…that magical word PAINT!!

You ask what colour hue I decided to go with on my sassy cabinet, eh?  That was not an easy decision, but I chose my all time favorite paint brand Benjamin Moore Evening Dove, Charcoal Pallet with some blue/grey undertones

The paint was complete.  The cabinet looked refreshed and fantastic but she was still in need the perfect knobs.   I found these updated sharp exquisite, darling marble knobs at Anthropologie…. Aren’t they tasteful?  I have a champagne taste on a beer budget.

But seriously, I was crushing on the after!!  It's pretty fabulous!
