Three Door Hutch Transformation

I enjoy long travels for furniture finds...

Diving for buried treasures….

Imagine my surprise when I came across this absolutely gorgeous huge hutch that had 3 large, square-shaped doors on the top and lots of storage cupboard space along the bottom.  I found her outside in the snow valley area sitting on the curb side for free!  Talk about a great find!

She was a diamond in the rough and I had to claim her as my prize.  This hutch spoke to me in many ways... I repurposed those 3 long doors and created mirrors out of them.  They were pretty banged up from the get go.  I left the original latex black layered paint job on them. I took the 3 doors to a professional glass factory in Barrie Ontario as they were best in business and I had the glass mirrors built right into the wooden frames.  Spiffy!  Jealous yet?

Luckily, a kind noble man came to me and said he could most definitely use those 3 doors to add to his space.  I asked him what he would do with them and he stated those mirrors would be a nice focal point in the hallway of his condo.

As for the actual hutch unit, I painted it using my own mixture. Annie Sloan chalk paint, adding Old White and Pure White together and French Linen was applied on the bottom cupboards. I decided to leave the piece open faced - meaning the top of the hutch did not have doors!
