Recede Ole Door

Do you horde old things?  Today we talk old door business.  How many of you are obsessed with doors in general??  I’m sorry friends - you can’t have this antique door.  I didn’t go fishing in the trash for it.  This goodie belongs to a happy client!

This door was like no other wooden door that I’ve ever seen. It had some interesting, natural texture and crackle in its original inlaid shape.  I couldn't wait to get started on this client’s project!

She knew exactly what she wanted! Grey tones using a paint wash technique. A wash is basically a technique resulting in a semi-transparent layer of colour.  This technique is done by mixing a little paint and a little bit of water to dull the finish.

I decided to go with Decorative Annie Sloan French Linen.  It's a cool natural color inspired by the colour of aged.

Gorgeous!!  Right?  My client is a genius!  And the best part, the door had a home to go back to.  She repurposed the antique door into a headboard for her cute, quaint guest bedroom in her cottage.

I mean I could lie there for days and get served breakfast in bed!  This room is super inviting with all her little personal touches.  She could decorate her space up cute as a button!  Who’s in need of a women’s retreat?  I should totally bug her up for a rental spot destination…Who’s in ladies?!
